Web Design
Our web design department is amazing at what they do - and we'd really like to show you the difference a CollaboRIA Canada design can make. Let's be realistic - your website is open even when your business is not.
Even now, your competitors are improving their website; a good website needs consistant updates to be on the ball. Your website is the one sales agent that is always selling your products and services. They're always telling everyone what an excellent business you run - or, how bad of a business you run. Most of your target market already has an internet connection, and they are comparing your website to your competitors.
Our clients usually come to us and tell us, "We need a design that reflects the quality of the work we do." Take a look at your website and at the image that it projects. Now, take a look at your competitors. There's a few key things you should be looking for:
- Is your website nearly identical to your competitors?
You should correct this immediately! If your competitors look identical to you, well, every business should have it's own unique brand. If nothing separates your products from the competition, well - you've probably already come to this conclusion; this is a huge problem. No successful business competes on price alone. All businesses are unique, and your website should reflect that!
- Is your competitors' website clearly better than yours?
This is very typical. Unfortunately, some companies just don't spend the time that they should branding their own products. They think that the quality and the price of the products speak for themselves. Unfortunately, they're very, very wrong. A good product/service/business has both a good image and a good follow-through; first opinions DO count. Not only that, the internet is our main source of finding out information these days. It allows you to look at information completely anonymously. (to a point, of course) This means that the customer will perceive no sales pressure, even though subconsciously, they are being bombarded with it.
- If your website was a sales person, would you hire them?
Take a look at all of your 'applicants' - your business, and 3 or 4 of your competitors. Think of these websites as potential employees. Your first impression is where they are listed on the most popular search engines. (Google and Yahoo) Your second impression is layout of their resume, (it's flashy, well laid out, long, etc) or the website design itself. Your last impression is their cover letters, or content of the website itself. Who are you going to hire to represent your business?
Typically, a customer will visit a minimum of 3 websites before making a decision to use a service or purchase a product.
When we design websites for our clients, our main objective is to look at both sides of the business - from the owners perspective, and from a client perspective. We want to create a website that is visually appealing for your target audience, while driving the sales of the products or services that make you the most money.
"I just can't afford to look good."
We have two things to say to that.
- How can you afford NOT to look good?
Take the liquor store, as an example. Walk down the aisles, take a look at the branding. These brands clearly know the strength of marketing. Every product demands your attention; you WANT to pick it up. We know that your next response will be 'I always buy the same brand.' Sure - a lot of consumers think this way. What about consumers that have never been exposed to your brand? If the label is black and white, would you ever take notice?
- As for costs, we understand that, too. We are a virtual office organization, which means we pay much less expenses than the average development and design company. We don't need to open a large office to house our employees; we don't have a huge IT backbone to support in-house. We use secure remoting for that. We don't need to maintain an IT infrastructure. Our employees come with their own computers. Our costs are significantly lower than the average design firm, which means that we can charge YOU less.
